Kiwanis Club makes gift to LRSEF
On Thursday, January 7, LRSEF received a generous donation of $1,500 from Rick Shafferman, current President of Kiwanis Club of Louisville. He is pictured here with LRSEF Treasurer Theresa Mattei during a COVID-era presentation. Because of the dedicated volunteer work of about 35 individuals, including LRSEF Board member Mark Garman , our students, teachers and judges will have resources needed to participate in the 2021 Virtual Fair. As part of their contribution, Kiwanis is sponsoring both the Junior & Senior Category Awards in Behavioral Sciences. The Kiwanis Club of Louisville was instrumental in helping start the then Louisville Science Fair in 1964. Kiwanis was the sole fair sponsor in 1969, 1980 and 1981. In addition to being a long-time financial sponsor of the Louisville Regional Science and Engineering Fair, Kiwanis members also volunteer many service hours every year. Thank You, Kiwanis of Louisville for sponsoring the 57th annual LRSEF.
