You can even list many of the local charities you contribute to all at the same time. Don’t worry about fees reducing your gift to LRSEF. The Community Foundation has attracted a grant from the Swope Family Foundation to cover the fees!

100% of your donation goes to supporting student awards, school awards and travel grants. As an all-volunteer group, LRSEF has very low overhead, so your funds are spent on rewarding Kentucky STEM students for their excellent work. Every donation is tax deductible.
Consider how you can help LRSEF for 2017:
- $10 counts as a unique gift for Give Local Louisville. Help LRSEF reach 25 gifts to receive money from the Bonus fund!
- $100 or more can later be designated as a SPECIAL AWARD!
- $135 will fund first, second & third Junior awards in ONE of 22 areas.
- $180 funds the first, second & third place Senior category awards.
- $750 covers the cash given to winning schools.
- $1,500 funds ONE student or ONE teacher at the international fair.
How did we use your LRSEF 2016 funds?
LRSEF 2016 was held on March 5 at the Kentucky Science Center with 304 students in grades 6-12 registering their projects. Students came from 25 different schools. The Science Center welcomed over 1,000 guests from the general public who engaged with the LRSEF students to learn about Engineering, Microbiology, Chemistry, Plant Science and more.
The top seven projects won LRSEF Best of Fair Awards from a special 10-year grant of innovation funds established by Kevin Nolan, vice president of GE Appliances, in 2014. LRSEF sent 88 projects to the Kentucky State Science & Engineering Fair at EKU.
LRSEF nominated 10 percent of middle school winners for the national Broadcom MASTERS Competition. TWO students from LRSEF were just named the only semifinalists from Kentucky in this event. They are among the select 300 semifinalists from over 2,300 entries.
LRSEF sent four high school winners to the International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Phoenix, Arizona. An LRSEF student, Joshua Jacob, was the only student from Kentucky to win a top prize. He won first place in Materials Science for Development of a Hybrid Inkjet 3D Printer.
