JCPS Chemistry and Physics teacher Mike Moreland will be running a two-hour professional development (PD) session for Science Fair Teachers and Mentors on Monday, September 8, 4:30-6:30 p.m. in downtown Louisville. Mike is the Vice President for Educational Outreach at the Louisville Regional Science and Engineering Fair (LRSEF). When: September 8, 4:30-6:30 p.m.
Where: Pathfinder School of Innovation in downtown Louisville.
Representatives from LRSEF, public school and private school teachers will be attending. We will provide research timelines, guidance documents, grant possibilities for your students and possible stipends for teachers. Half of the session will consist of a presentation and the other half will include a round table discussion with experienced and new science fair teachers.
This PD will be held at the Pathfinder School of Innovation in downtown Louisville.
Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) teachers should attend in person to earn two hours of PD credit. Teachers outside of JCPS can either attend in-person or virtually and I can verify PD hours if needed.
Teachers in JCPS register by doing the following:
- Go to Vector
- Select Available Events.
- Beside where it says Search Filters, select Next Year
- Go to the search bar and type “Science Olympiad” to register.
