LRSEF is committed to increasing the science fair participation of under-represented minority (URM)* and low-income** students. To boost URM-science-fair participation, LRSEF is offering research grants to eligible schools. The grant is funded by LRSEF’s Amazon Innovation Grant through the Kentucky Science & Engineering Fair.
School Equipment Grant
The School Equipment Grant Program (School Equipment Grant) awards up to $800 that is used to purchase science fair supplies and equipment. The equipment purchased from the School Equipment Grant must be used for student research by URM and low-income students with the goal of having these students present at the LRSEF in March 2025. Learn more and apply for the School Equipment Grant.
Note: there are two application windows. Applications for summer research will be accepted and approved on a rolling basis until May 24, 2024. If you’d like to apply for materials for the start of the school year, the deadline will be December 20, 2024.
