LRSEF Winner Erin Burba’s Whirlwind Adventures

erin-1Following her participation at the Louisville Regional Science and Engineering Fair, Erin Burba competed at I-SWEEEP, the International Sustainable World Energy, Engineering, and Environment Project Olympiad, where shereceived a bronze medal, and the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair.

At these competitions, Erin enjoyed meeting scientists from around the world, discussing the science and motivation that went into their projects, and visiting Houston and Pittsburgh. Following these competitions, Erin graduated from high school and spent 10 days in China to learn about Chinese culture and high speed rail systems. She is currently attending Northeastern University to study computer engineering, and she is considering taking on math and environmental science minors.

As a way to continue her support of LRSEF, Erin is offering her talents as one of the LRSEF Student Voice Reporters and will be submitting blog stories in the months to come.
