Help Needed to Plan Science Fair Projects in Light of COVID-19

We need your input! The LRSEF Educational Outreach Committee is meeting this summer to help students, teachers, and mentors plan for science fair projects with social distancing in mind. We need help with the following:

  • Identifying research projects that students can complete at home,
  • Providing resources for remote and stay-at-home research, and
  • Locating mentors to video conference with students.

If you think you can help, please complete the appropriate form below.

Science & Engineering Projects from Home

The Educational Outreach Committee needs help identifying science fair projects that students can complete from home. These projects could be completed with just a computer, supplies that can be purchased from local stores, or projects that can be completed with supplies purchased from science supply organizations (Ex: Carolina Biological). If you have a research topic that can be done at home, complete the Science & Engineering Research from Home Form.

Ideas will be posted on lrsef.org, under the Students and Teacher Section. Deadline: August 31st.

Virtual Mentors Needed for Upcoming School Year

Due to COVID-19, students will likely be video conferencing and remotely interacting with their research mentors. If you would like to be a mentor in this capacity, please complete the Virtual Mentor Interest Form.
