The in-person fair in Alumni Coliseum at Eastern Kentucky University was replaced with the virtual format to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
By holding the fair in this format, nearly 300 participants were able to compete for category and special awards, while also having the opportunity to compete in national competitions such as the BROADCOM Masters for middle school students. Unfortunately, the 2020 Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair for high school students has been canceled.
83 of the 95 students promoted from LRSEF competed in the virtual fair —68 individuals and 7 teams.
